Greenway Kia of Rivergate Renovation

Expanding Service Capacity Without Disrupting Daily Operations

Crain Construction completed a comprehensive renovation of Rivergate Kia while keeping the dealership open and serving customers throughout construction.

The project included a 10,000-square-foot addition to the existing service shop, adding 12 work bays, two wet detail bays, two dry detail bays, and a locker room for technicians. Crain also remodeled roughly 11,000 square feet of showroom and office space, updated the exterior façade, and fully overhauled the parking area, including new lighting.

Because every part of an operating dealership serves a purpose, daily communication and coordination were critical to keeping construction moving without disrupting daily dealership operations.

Crain worked closely with dealership leadership each day to coordinate construction activities around vehicle deliveries, customer traffic, and operational needs. The team also kept trade partners informed so everyone understood the importance of maintaining a smooth dealership operation.

The renovation also presented unforeseen conditions within the existing pre-engineered metal structure. After demolition revealed the existing conditions, Crain worked with the design team to adapt the plans and develop solutions that worked with the structure while keeping the project moving.

The completed renovation expands Rivergate Kia’s service capacity and creates updated spaces designed to better serve customers and staff for years to come.
